HORIE ART ACADEMY / HIGH SCHOOL PATHWAY

A high-school diploma pathway built around art

Horie Art Academy is a support school where students work toward the requirements of a partner correspondence high school while studying manga and illustration through an individual plan.

HOW THE PARTNERSHIP WORKS

Two schools support different parts of the pathway.

Horie Art Academy does not award the high-school diploma. Students using the pathway enrol in both the partner correspondence high school and Horie Art Academy.

PARTNER HIGH SCHOOL

Partner correspondence high school

The partner school manages the academic study, credit recognition, and graduation requirements. Once all requirements are met, that school awards the diploma.

  • Academic study
  • Credit recognition
  • Graduation requirements
HORIE ART ACADEMY

Horie Art Academy

Horie supports students in continuing their high-school studies and provides individual consultation and a manga or illustration curriculum matched to each learner.

  • Day-to-day study support
  • Individual consultation
  • Manga and illustration

The current partner, entry or transfer conditions, fees, attendance, and study arrangements vary with each student’s year level and enrolment history. Confirm the latest details in an individual consultation.

PATHWAY

From the first consultation to graduation

We begin with the student’s current circumstances and goals, then explain the applicable process and study arrangement. An inquiry alone does not confirm admission or transfer.

  1. 01

    Request a visit or consultation

Tell us the student’s current year, enrolment status, interests, and hopes for the future.

  2. 02

Review the entry or transfer process

Staff explain the current structure, conditions, and costs of both the partner high school and the support school.

  3. 03

    Combine high-school study and art

Work through the partner school’s graduation requirements with study support and individual manga or illustration instruction.

  4. 04

    Complete the partner school’s requirements

After the required study and credits are completed, the correspondence high school awards the high-school diploma.

ART STUDY

Three art paths shaped around the learner

An individual curriculum can support students who want art to make school sustainable, as well as those preparing for further study or creative work.

01 / CHARACTER DESIGN

Character design

Begin with characters you love and build the skills needed for figures, clothing, expression, composition, and original work.

02 / MANGA

Manga

Connect character, story, panel layout, and drawing so that an idea can become a complete manga.

03 / ART EXAM

Art-school entrance preparation

Prepare from fundamentals through practical work based on the target institution’s requirements and the student’s current level.

WHO CAN ASK

Ask about new entry, transfer, or re-entry.

Students can consult us when conventional school attendance is difficult, when they want to place a strong interest at the centre of learning, or when they need to rebuild their route forward.

NEW ENROLMENT

Final-year junior-high students and families

For students considering this route after junior-high graduation. We explain how academic study and manga or illustration learning can fit together.

TRANSFER

Current or former high-school students

For students considering transfer or re-entry. Staff review the present enrolment and completed credits before explaining the checks and procedures that may apply.
